Records in my diet

I’m listening to records for sounds that I’d like to grab and emulate for the record – here’s a short list to be expounded on later

1. Tom Petty – Highway Companion – I’ve been SOO into this record for the past 3 months

2. Burt Bacharach – most anything – anything he’s produced, especially instrumental pieces

3. Robert Plant/Allison Krauss – Raising Sand – mostly for strange sounds

4. Aimee Mann – Lost in Space and Bachelor No. 2 – getting back into these records after a long time off.  I feel like she writes similar songs with more robust arrangements

5. Beach Boys – Pet Sounds and Friends -  standards in my record-making diet

There are more, but these are the principals at the moment.
